WALKER, Harry Jr., 72, of Palmyra, Va., passed away on July 2, 2008. The graveside service will be held at his ancestral home in La Crosse, Va., at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2008. "Boo," of Mechanicsville and previously of Charlottesville, Va., passed away Thursday, July 31, at the age of 75. Boo was born on March 16, 1933 in Sioux City, Iowa, to Harry and Lois Day of Minneapolis, Minn. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, William Harry Wangensteen. Whitehurst PORTSMOUTH - John William Whitehurst, 81, formerly of Portsmouth, passed away Aug. 5, 2008, in Whitesburg Gardens, Huntsville, Ala. Mr. Whitehurst was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy Class of 1944, Indiana Technical College, and Catholic University of America receiving a B.S. and M.S. degree in aeronautical engineering. He worked 40 years in the aerospace industry, 10 years at Martin and 30 years at IBM. At retirement he was manager of GPS Space Vehicle Engineering.
