He is the patriarch of a family that has grown to 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren (and counting) in occupations that include medicine, education, ministry, engineering and law - the legacy of their love and faith. Mr. Beyrau was born in Syracuse, N.Y. and raised during the Depression in a family short on money but long on hope and prayers. His brother and lone sibling, Leonard, preceded him in death.
