John Gilbert White Jr. (Pic) On Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, God sent down an angel for John Gilbert White Jr. (Pic). No more suffering, no more pain, his struggle is over. Immediately set free from his infirmity and saved by grace. He was born in Lynchburg, the son of the late John Gilbert White Sr. and Helen Grier White. "Pic" was educated in Lynchburg Public Schools and was a 1969 graduate of Dunbar High School. In 1979, he started his own business, "White's Cleaning Service." His work ethic and loyalty to his customers exceeded the standards of that time. He understood customer service and took great pride in his work. "Pic" was passionate about the Washington Redskins and hosted Superbowl parties for the "Skins," where he served his famous chilli. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman, fishing in both the James River and the deep sea. He had a love for the Peaks of Otter and the Otter Creek Dam area. "Pic" was also an exceptional cook and eager to sample various cuisines. Even during his illness he loved to frequent various restaurants. "Pic" was a devoted son, father and grandfather. Those left to cherish his memory and celebrate his life are his three daughters, Bevley W.
