Frank Blaha Jr. 12/24/37 - 12/10/08 Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that place at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I've savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief; Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free. We miss you, your family. |

They are grateful for the unrelenting medical help from Dr. Leila Binder, and her staff, the staff at MCV where Jared was airlifted the day he was injured, and everyone at CHKD for the expertise throughout his fight. His loving and dedicated physical therapist, Maryann McCarthy, the dedicated nurses at Maxim Health Care, the entire staff at Poquoson Pharmacy for doing whatever it took to keep Jared's meds prepared., Jared's Nina, Kathy Stowe, was his constant care giver and soul mate who portrayed relentless energy by loving and caring for Jared. His mama, Nicole Patton loved her youngest son with all her heart and will miss his big open mouthed kisses the most. He was her heart and there he will always stay. His Grandfather, Steve Stowe, will be forever grateful to Jared for showing him it is possible to drop your guard and put fear to the side in order to give and receive unconditional love., He will be missed very much by his big brother, Jacob Patton, and his brother, Austin Fagan. in Japan. He hitchhiked back to Virginia in 1955 to see his first baby, Ricky, because he didn't have enough money for a bus ticket. He was a lifetime member of Grayson County VFW Post #7726., Left behind to grieve is his wife, Bonnie Sue Ray Reeves; five surviving children, Richard Ray (Ricky), John David and Renae, William Howard (Bill) and Sharon, Nancy Faye and James and Wayne Cullen Harrison and Billie Jo; one brother-in-law, Lewis Fred Ray, of Galax, Va.; and a special nephew, George Black, of Woodlawn, Va., He was a member of Zion Primitive Baptist Church, Sparta, N.C. He was an inactive member of the New Castle, Del., Masonic Lodge. He was a retired Teamster of Local 557, Baltimore, Md. He delivered cars all over the country and made lots of friends everywhere he went. He never met a stranger. In later years he delivered flowers for his wife at their florist and would always visit with the elderly or sick before he returned to the shop., He loved animals and children. All his cows became pets and got named after careful observance of their personality. Most were named after someone he knew., He loved his Blue Heelers Buddy and Pepper like his own children. He loved to play games and talk to children and would repeat tales they told him to everyone. He loved to laugh and joke and get his wife stirred up. He loved to say "Hey watch this" right before he made up something he knew would get to her and then laugh at her reaction. She fell for it every time., He loved all holidays, cookouts and roasting marshmallows and hot dogs with his grandchildren. His favorite time was having all his family together to eat, talk and play cards with Ricky. He made sure his kids went camping, fishing, and traveled all over the United States and Canada. It's impossible to know how many fish he has taken off hooks or how many times he was hooked by his children and grandchildren and most of the time he never got to put his reel in the water. Whether it was the World's Fair, the Grand Canyon, of Niagara Falls, he was ready to go., His perfection was being a grandpa to Christine, Mark, Michael, Matthew, Molly, Cassie, Meara and Hannah., He drove his wife crazy around the holidays fretting about getting his list of people their gifts of ham, fudge, oysters or whatever else had come up with for that year., Mother's day always found him delivering corsages and hanging baskets to aunts or other ladies who had no one to bring them something. It always bothered him if someone got left out or had no one to care for them. He especially liked doing for his Uncle Olin and Aunt Edna Reeves, of Wilkesboro, N.C., and his Aunt Inez Boyer, of Independence, Va., Even though he never had a brother, his pals, Pete Hoyt, from Binghamton, N.Y., Moose McQuown, from Newwark, Del., and Roy Boyer, from Independence, Va., filled the roll just as good., Friend to all...never an unkind word said about him...everyone liked him that met him., will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2009, in Saddle Creek Cemetery, Independence, Va.
