BAKER - Ann G. 11/28/40 - 3/20/08 On your 69th birthday, your memory inspires all who ever knew you. St. David's feels your presence in everything we do. I know you're watching my "journey" and smiling. I see that little foot tapping as I sing your favorite song and knowing you're in a choir of angels keeps me "standing on a rocking" along. And as you celebrate your second Christmas in Heaven, give Boo a hug for me, welcome Ken and continue to watch over Father Phil. Thanks for your part in sending me angels down here. Not coincidence, it's the ones I've lost whispering in God's ear. Friend, J.C., Sheba and Ms. Puff

Janet Duistermars

Jan Duistermars will be remembered for her room-filling laugh, her deep faith and more than anything else, her lifelong love and dedication to her family. Surrounded by loved ones on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, 2009, she passed from this life with the same grace and dignity with which she had always faced it. She now rests in her Savior's embrace., Born in April 24, 1940, Jan grew up in South Dakota mining country before moving to Phoenix in 1960 with her husband and two young children., More than three decades of Arizona sunshine were not enough to overcome her love of South Dakota. Jan moved back there in the mid 1990's before harsh winters convinced her to move to her oldest daughter's new hometown of Charlottesville., Jan's membership at First Baptist Church allowed her to renew her love of singing in the church choir. Members of the congregation may remember her contribution to the choirs silhouette, where her tenor voice placed her among the men with her 4 foot, 11 inch frame, a sapling among redwoods., On her final day, Jan was visited by First Baptist's longtime pastor, Joel Jenkins, who told fond stories of how Jan had always been a personal encouragement to him. No one was surprised., Though her life's focus was always on the home front, her work outside the home reflected Jan's patience and compassion. Most recently, Jan worked as an educational aide in the Albemarle School system, where she helped children with special needs fit into the mainstream., Jan is survived by her children Christine Londen and her husband, Ron, James Duistermars, Dayna Hudgin and her husband, Brent; grandchildren Carissa Baldwin and her husband, Jason, Kate Londen, Bethany Londen and her fiancee, Colt Allgood, Taylor, Luke and Cole Hudgin; as well as great-grandchildren, Paige and Jack Baldwin. Each will dearly miss being called, "Sweet Baby"., A memorial service for Janet Duistermars will be held at First Baptist Church on Park Street 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009.

Michelle Cornell-Bowen (Shelly) (In Memoriam)

CORNELL-BOWEN Michelle (Shelly) Cornell-Bowen On November 25, 2009 it will have been 4 years since Shelly passed. Not a day goes by that we are not reminded of her beauty, intellect and unconquerable spirit. She lived life as few of us could ever aspire. Though hard to put into words, Mark Twain's quotation comes closest, " Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's heaven on Earth." There are few moments in life that allow you to feel heaven on earth, but when my mind wonders to thoughts of Shelly it has to feel something like that Love Your Family
