Allen Jackson (Jay) Newberry II, 61, of Salem, Va., died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at his home. He was born on March 15, 1949, in Waynesboro, Va., son of the late Allen J. and Sallie Snow Newberry. After graduating from Waynesboro High School in 1967, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 1971. A veteran, he served in the United States Air Force and Navy Reserves. Professionally, he was a state probation and parole officer for 27 years until his retirement. He loved music of all kinds from heavy metal to classical. Always a kid at heart, he loved going to concerts and was known for his sense of humor. Preceding him in death were his three precious triplets, Jennifer, John, and Jeffrey Newberry. His surviving family includes his loving wife of 40 years, Peggy Newberry, of Salem; son, David Allen Newberry and girlfriend, Sarah Rudolph, of Salem; daughter, Tracy Lea Reaser and husband, Sam, of Salem; sister-in-law, Linda Clapp and husband, Ron, of King, N.C.; nephew, Richard Clapp, of King, N.C.; niece, Laura Clapp, of Atlanta, Ga.; and close friends, John Breeding, Jason Willis, and many more. A period of visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A service celebrating his life will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010, in the funeral home's chapel. Jay's special friend, Wesley Wilson, will officiate. Mrs. Angela Elizabeth Norman, 61, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. She was born on September 6, 1948, to the late Joe and Willie Mae Mays Sr. She was also preceded in death by her grandmother, Viola Henderson. She was a child of God, anointed woman of God, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, politician, community activist, entrepreneur and friend and fulfilled every role with dignity and excellence, which made a mark for the kingdom of God. She ministered with her husband for five years as pastors of Victory Christian Center and has served faithfully as an ordained Elder at Spirit of Life International under the former leadership of Bishop Antonio D. Thomas and currently Dr. David C. Forbes Jr. She was a two time candidate for Roanoke City Council. She served faithfully as a city of Roanoke employee for 29 years before retiring in 2005. One of her most honored accomplishments was receiving the "Martin Luther King Drum Major for Justice Award." Those who will rejoice in her memory include her husband of 26 years, Elder Kenneth Norman; sons, Ronnie (Niki) Payne, Randy (Renea) Payne, and Brad (Johnette) Burdette; two brothers, Joe (Barbara) Mays Jr. and Jimmie Lee Mays; mother-in-law, Earlene Norman; brothers-in-law, Steve (Laverne) Norman and Gary Norman; six grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Anne Macrum Elder, 91, of Salem, Va., and formerly of Wilmington, N.C., died on Sunday, June 20, 2010. Anne was born in Oakmont, Pa., on January 24, 1919. She graduated from Towson High School in Maryland in 1937 and studied piano at the Peabody Institute in Baltimore. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Towson State Teachers College in 1943 and taught school in Harford County, Md. Called to serve her country, Anne joined the Navy as a Wave and became an aerologist, serving at Dahlgren Proving Ground, VA and the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Fla. She then became a meteorologist for the Baltimore Weather Bureau and was commissioned a Lieutenant Junior Grade in the United States Naval Reserve, reaching the rank of Commander before retirement. Anne also studied at Florida State University and served at weather stations in Honolulu, Hawaii, Wilmington, N.C., Spartanburg, S.C., Raleigh-Durham, N.C., Oklahoma City, Okla., and Neenah, Wis., where she became the first female Meteorologist in Charge in the Northwest Central region. In 1973, Anne received a Department of Commerce Bronze Medal "in recognition of continued outstanding meteorological service to the residents of eastern North Carolina." She retired as Weather Service and Radar Specialist at the Weather Service Office in Wilmington, N.C., in 1977. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church choir in Wilmington and enjoyed entertaining many nieces and nephews at Wrightsville Beach. In 2002, Anne moved to the Roanoke Valley to be closer to her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Tom Orville and their family. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Howard Elder and Anna Macrum Elder; a brother, George Elder; and a sister, Lois Young. Survivors include her brothers, Robert Elder, of Huntingdon, Pa., and Thomas Elder, of Norfolk, Mass.; sisters, Susan Malcolm, of Niskayuna, N.Y., and Mary Orville, of Roanoke, Va.; eight nieces; seven nephews; 15 great-nieces; 17 greatnephews; three great-greatnieces; and two greatgreat-nephews. Anthony Scott Fulcher PORTSMOUTH - Anthony Scott Fulcher, 45, passed away suddenly June 20, 2010. A native of Portsmouth, "Ant," as he was lovingly known, was born March 16, 1965 and was a rigging foreman by trade. He was a member of the Portsmouth Moose Lodge No. 898 and loved spending time with his friends playing horseshoes and darts, but most of all he adored his children and grandchildren who were the light of his life. He was predeceased by his father, Clarence R. Fulcher. Charles C. (Pete) Guthrie, 85, of Franklin County, Va., passed away on Tuesday morning, June 22, 2010, at the Virginia Veteran's Care Center, Salem, Va. Born in Franklin County, Va., on October 29, 1924, he was the youngest of 12 children born to the late Robert L. and Johnnie Wright Guthrie. He honorably served his country during World War II in the United States Army "Red Ball Express" supplying General Patton during the invasion of Europe. Pete was a Christian and lifelong member of Cedar Bluff Church of the Brethren, Boones Mill, Va. Surviving are his beloved wife of 62 years, Kathryn "Kitty" Naff Guthrie, of Boones Mill, Va.; two children, Larry R. Guthrie (Debbie), of Alpharetta, Ga., and Donna G. Gaudet (Jim), of Lynchburg, Va.; grandchildren, Jason, Jane, Brad, Brittany and Amber; seven greatgrandchildren; brother, Emmett W. Guthrie; sistersin-law, Effie W. Guthrie and Frances N. Peters; brotherin-law, Edwin W. Terry (Barnett); special friends, Jerry and Loretta Mills; and many nieces and nephews. Pete's love for gardening was his hobby. He worked tirelessly in his garden, operated a green house for a number of years, and shared the fruits of his green thumb with many. Early in his career, Pete mastered the art of auto body repair working for several Roanoke dealerships and in 1970 opened his own repair business in Roanoke with his brother, Bobby. Later this evolved into Industrial Radiator Corporation owned and operated until his retirement in 1986. Subsequently, Pete and Kitty moved to Spring Hill, Fla., living there for 11 years before returning to Boones Mill in 1997. In 1994, Dave and his wife opened A Simple Suggestion Florist in Portsmouth. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 34 years, Debbie Piland Ambrose; three children, Kelly and Jason Gish, Bubba Ambrose and Jaime Troyer, and Michael Ambrose; three grandchildren, Leah Ambrose, Mason and Khloe Gish; his mother, Dorathy Hooker; two brothers, Donald and Marianne Ambrose, and Ray and Wanda Ambrose; two sisters, Becky and Bob Ware, and Sandra and Dick Pusateri; several very special nieces and nephews. David Ray (Wooly) Woolridge, 51, a resident of Cleveland, Tenn., and formerly of Roanoke, Va., passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 22, 2010, in a Chattanooga Hospital. He was the son of the late Mary Dunbar Woolridge and Robert Edward Woolridge. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Emma Jean Miller and Bonnie Hatcher; and his brother, George Woolridge. He had been employed for Whirpool in Cleveland for over 23 years. He had lots of friends and was loved by many. He loved country music and helping people and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughter, Leigh Anne Forshee and her husband, Eugene, of Delano; sisters, Margaret Miller, Connie Collins, Alice Grable and her husband, James, his twin sister, Mamie Van lew and her husband, David, Nancy Dickerson and her husband, David, and Sally Belcher, all of Virginia; his brothers, Robert "Buck" Woolridge Jr. and Harry Woolridge, all from Roanoke, Va.; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Donald E. Denicke CURRITUCK - Donald Etter Denicke, 76, passed away June 20, 2010 while in Canada. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Clarence and Jean Denicke. He served in the United States Army and then had a long career in Virginia Beach as a systems analyst, retiring from Comtek. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Currituck where he volunteered for 12 years with the Currituck County school system. He was also an active and dedicated bridge player, and an avid boater. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeanette Denicke; son, Mike Denicke (Angi) of Atlanta; daughter, Carla Mebane (Bert) of Currituck; granddaughters, Kellen Scanlon, Kaitlen Scanlon, and Brittney Mebane of Currituck; sister, Bev Hulbert (Sam); cousin, Cora Walthall; sister-in-law, Joann Minter; nephews, great-nieces and a great-nephew. A memorial service will take place at Moyock Baptist Church, 123 Oak St., Moyock, on June 27 at 3 p.m. with Pastor Vic Ramsey officiating. |

Ellen Earlene Wise PORTSMOUTH - Ellen Earlene Wise, 68, went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Mrs. Wise was born in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Catherine Jeanette Lilienthal and Elmer E. Ricks. Mrs. Wise was a member of Western Branch Community Church where she was a worship leader and member of the choir. Mrs. Wise attained her associate degree in nutrition and took courses in sign language so she could communicate with all the children in her school. She was a member of the Virginia School Food Service Association. She worked more than 30 years as a cafeteria manager for the Portsmouth Public Schools where she was an organizer and strong supporter of implementing the breakfast and summer feeding programs. Mrs. Wise was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 50 years, Steve Wise Sr. She is survived by her children: son, Steve Wise Jr. and Sachi; daughter, Catherine Wise; grandchildren, Paula, Trevor, Tyron, Steve III and Craig; and two great-grandchildren, Sasha and Jah. Also surviving Mrs. Wise are her sister, Julia Sugg and a brother, E.E. "Butch" Ricks. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to her caregiver and good friend, Maria Brooks. A funeral to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Western Branch Community Church with Dr. Jim Wall officiating. Eugene R. (Red) Dunagan, 91, of Roanoke, Va., passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010. He was a United States Army veteran of the 820th Aviation Engineers serving throughout Europe. He was a member and elder of the Belmont Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the N.R.A. and lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was a former employee of the American Viscose and the City of Roanoke. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and Jennie Dunagan; six sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 61½ years, Eloise Fringer Dunagan; son, Roger L. Dunagan, of Vinton; two grandsons, Ryan E. Dunagan and fiancée, Kristen M. Gillespie, and Shaun P. Dunagan, all of Vinton; mother of the grandsons, Lori Adams, of Roanoke; nieces, Wanda Myers and Betty Foster; nephews, James Carver, Donnie Carver and Ronnie Carver; a special relative, Phyllis Owen. CRUICKSHANKS, Frances Elizabeth "The Great Chef," 92, born February 15, 1918 and died May 26, 2010 peacefully of natural causes. She was the daughter of Oscar and Emma Jones of Richmond and the eldest of five siblings. Frances was married to John S. Cruickshanks Jr. for 56 years and had four children, John III, Patricia, Robert and Thomas. Being the first to graduate with a college degree, she was active in the family business, Cruickshanks Iron Works, for over 40 years, as well as raising a large family. She was active in Ginter Park Baptist Church, where she chaired numerous clubs and committees including the Golden Circle Club, Richmond Garden Club and Richmond Women's Club and United Daughter's of the Confederacy. She prided herself with always having a hot meal available to her children and any stranger at all times. She was known as "The Great Chef" by her friends and strangers for her kindness. She will be remembered as a loving, gentle, strong matriarch of her family. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Ginter Park Baptist Church, with a reception immediately following for her friends and family. |

Born in Mooresville, N.C., June 14, 1933, he was the son of the late D. Victor Meekins and the late Catherine Deaton Meekins of Sunnyside. He was editor and publisher of The Coastland Times. He will be remembered for his love of North Carolina and its people, especially of Dare County and the Walter Raleigh coastland. He was involved in local real estate, and was a familiar sight at auctions. He is survived by his wife, Virginia H. Meekins of the home; daughters, Susan M. Simpson of Manteo and Holly M. Williams and husband Harry of Inez; a son, F. Warren Meekins Jr. and wife Beverly of Manteo; a sister, Mary Blanche Harwell and husband Boyce of Manteo; a brother, Roger P. Meekins and wife Celia of Manteo; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two grandsons. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at Twiford's Funeral Home, Manteo. Jeannette Pearl Seiler Kidd, 89, of Roanoke, Va., peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. She was born on February 15, 1921, in Charlottesville, Va., the daughter of the late Stuart Stevenson Seiler Sr. and Ruth Pearl Geer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ernest Kidd Sr.; her beloved son, James Ernest (Skip) Kidd Jr.; and sisters, Virginia "Puggy" S. Freed and Joyce S. Coiner., Jeannette was a faithful member of Oakland Baptist Church Ruth Sunday School Class. She was a longtime loyal employee and retired from Appalachian Power Company. Jeannette dearly loved sports and was an exceptional athlete. She was a pitcher for Fast Pitch Softball Team, played basketball and was an avid bowler up into her 80's bowling both duck-pins and ten-pin., Jeannette is survived by daughter-in-law, Susan Angle Kidd; grand-doggy, Baylee; sisters, Pauline S. Jeffery Alan Gegan CAMDEN - Jeffery Alan Gegan, 49, died Monday, June 21, 2010, at his residence. He was born Oct. 17, 1960 in Norfolk to the late Henry and Sallie Gegan of Virginia Beach. Jeffrey was involved in many things since he loved to stay busy. He was a computer technician involved in the sales and support of computers, as well as a telecommunication specialist involved in the sales and support of satellite telecommunications products. He was also skilled in construction which he loved to do projects on his day off. Jeffrey was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Doreen Yourth Gegan; a daughter, Hannah Lynn Gegan of Camden, N.C.; one sister, Stacy Gegan Smith of Virginia Beach; and two brothers, Michael Gegan and wife Jenny and Chris Gegan, both of Virginia Beach. Also, he is survived by several nieces, Ashley, Kaelyn and Jenna Smith of Virginia Beach, Brittany Gegan Johnson; one nephew, Shea Gegan of Virginia Beach; aunt and uncle, Bill and Nancy Benner of Pennsylvania; an uncle, David Edwards of Florida; as well as many cousins. He was the son of the late Mr. Joe and Mrs. Lillian Horne Bynum of Wilson, N.C. He will be greatly missed. Josephine Camp, 92, of Richmond and formerly of Radford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Our Lady of Hope in Richmond Virginia. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Catherine Kriz of Blacksburg, Virginia. She is survived by her sister, Flora Heggem; by her children, Joan Coleman and her husband, Jim Coleman, her son, Thomas Camp and his wife, Margaret Murphey. She also had nine grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Josie was born to hard working coal mining farmer Austrian immigrants, Frank Hocheder and Annie Gutfelder in Louisville, Colorado. During World War II she worked in Denver for the U.S. Geological Survey. She met her husband of 37 years, Thomas Camp, in Denver where they lived until they moved to Bluefield, West Virginia, then on to Radford, Virginia where they raised their family and lived for many years. Josie worked at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant then at Radford University where she retired at the age of 75 after 30 years of employment in the office of admissions. After retiring she enjoyed many years with her friends and being an important part of her family. A mass in her intention will be said at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Radford, Virginia on July 10, 2010 at 5 p.m. Family and friends will gather afterwards at the Best Western in Radford to celebrate her life and enjoy memories of her. Gilbert and girlfriend Angel of Lebanon; two stepsons, Donald L. Gray Jr. and wife Tammy of Castlewood, Va., and David L. Gray and wife Michelle of Elizabethton, Tenn.; three brothers, James T. It is with great regret that we announce the passing of Michael Shank, of Roanoke, Va., on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Mike was retired from the Roanoke County Sheriff's Department. Mike passed away suddenly in his Roanoke home following a long history of cardiac problems. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Fredricka Shank; and a brother, Billy Shank. He is survived by his lovely wife, Vaughna, with whom he loved to travel since his retirement from the Sheriff's Department. Mike and Vaughna are members of Journey Church. Mike is the father of two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa Annette Morris and Rick Wilson, of Roanoke, and Cherie E. and Billy Rinn, of Roanoke. He was the grandfather of five wonderful grandchildren, Mallory, Sarah, Jaxon, William and Ayden; two very special aunts, Jean Hammersley and Helen Shank, who cared for him after the death of his mother; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Bill Lantz, of Bedford; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Sharon Shank, of Fort Mill, S.C., and Steven and Candy Shank ,of Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews. Always ready with sound advice and a willingness to mentor; his valuable guidance and loving support will be missed by his family and others. Many will remember Mike's sense of humor, quick wit and his ever willing readiness to play a practical joke when the opportunity arose. Nancy Thompson Honaker Nancy Thompson Honaker, age 91, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late John and Sarah Phillips Thompson and the wife of the late Clyde Honaker. She had lived her whole life in Bristol. She was a former employee of Big Jack Manufacturing. Mrs. Honaker was the oldest living charter member of Belle Meadows Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Marshall Honaker; grandson, Russell Honaker Jr.; and sisters, Edith Roberts, Virginia Cross, and Loma Campbell. Jun 25, 2010 STANLEY, N.C. — Peggy Harmon Agee, 68, of Stanley, died May 22, 2010, of injuries from an automobile accident. She was born in Patrick Springs, Va., to John Wilburn Harmon and Annie Walker Harmon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Leo Agee Sr., on Sept. 13, 2009; six brothers, Charles Harmon, Darryl Harmon, Donald Harmon, Roy Harmon, Larry Harmon and John Harmon; and two sisters, Helen Harmon and Evelyn Bishop. She was a member of Craig Memorial Baptist Church in Stanley, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. Steve S. Bukowski NORLINA - Steve Stanley Bukowski, 55, died Monday, June 21, 2010 in Danville, Va. He was born in Detroit. Mr. Bukowski was preceded in death by his parents, Steve S. Bukowski and Jennie Krawzyk. Steve was a U.S. Navy Seal for 32 years, a member of the UDT Seal Association, a therapeutic foster parent to several children and a "darn" good dad. Steve Bukowski was indestructible, stubborn, loyal, far more honest than the normal person, and faced impossible odds. On June 21, 2010 when he inserted under the pearly gates of heaven, the Lord met with, "Welcome Home. The only easy day was yesterday." He is survived by his wife, Lynnette June Bukowski; his children, Stephen Stanley Bukowski and wife Shawna Terry of Charlottesville, Va.; his daughter, Sheri Lynn Bukowski of Redding, Calif.; his son, Aaron Timothy Bukowski of Norlina; a brother, Bob Bukowski of Savannah, Ga.; his sister, Rose Ball of Melford, Ohio; his sister, Eleanor Duffy of Youngstown, Ohio; his sister, Carol Nordine of Savannah; his mother-in-law, Sherry Van Campen of Virginia Beach; and countless other members of his extended family. The funeral will be held in the chapel at Blaylock Funeral Home in Warrenton, Sunday, June 27, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. before the service. Sue Britton (Mrs. G. Ronald), 97, of Roanoke, Va., and residing in McLean for the past seven years, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2010. She was a graduate of Longwood College. Sue was a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church, and had regularly attended Columbia Baptist Church in Falls Church since her move to McLean., She was Mother of the Year (Religious Activities) in Roanoke for 1973, and was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Community Service Award from Longwood College in 1987., Mrs. Britton was preceded in death by her husband, G. Ronald Britton; her parents, Edward Thomas Yeaman and Maude Chernault Yeaman, of Martinsville; and four brothers, Edward, Thomas, John, and Holladay Yeaman., Surviving are two daughters, Susan Overstreet and husband, Lee, of Roanoke, and Nancy Shelton and husband, Bob, of Farmville; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Overstreet Trumbull and husband, Scott, of McLean, Tiffany Wooding Overstreet, of Richmond, Meredith Shelton Ewing and husband, Jason, of Blacksburg, and Jessica Shelton Banachowski and husband, Keith, of Columbus, Ohio; and five great-grandchildren, Brittony and Alexandra "Aly" Trumbull, of McLean, Reed and Scarlett Ewing, of Blacksburg, and Lydia Banachowski, of Columbus, Ohio., A Memorial Service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2010, from Virginia Heights Baptist Church with the Reverend C. Mr. McCracken was born on Dec. 13, 1944, in Washington County, Va. He was a dairy farmer in Washington County, Va., and in South Carolina for most of his life. Virginia George Hopkins, 86, of Roanoke, Va. died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, after a long illness. A wonderful wife and mother, Ginny was active in her church community. She served on the Vestry at Christ Episcopal Church for a number of years, including terms both as Junior Warden and as Senior Warden, and on numerous church committees. She was Mother of the Year for Religious Activities in Roanoke in 1965. She was on the Board of Bethany Hall and also Planned Parenthood, serving as president of the Roanoke Chapter. She was appointed by Governor Baliles to serve on the Virginia Public Telecommunications Board. She was active with the Girl Scouts and many other activities pursued by her children. A native of Charlottesville and a graduate of Hollins College, Ginny also loved tennis and bridge with friends. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, William B. Hopkins; and her five children, Dabney Hopkins, of Durham, N.C., Sarah Finley, of Richmond, William Hopkins, Jr., of Roanoke, Carter Hopkins, of Franklin County and Marshall Martin, of Richmond; one daughter-in-law, Ann Hopkins, of Roanoke; and two sons-in-law, Don Finley and Jeff Martin, both of Richmond; and five grandchildren, Kitty, Virginia and Isabel Hopkins, of Roanoke, Catie Finley, of Arlington, and Virginia Martin, of Richmond. The family will receive friends Friday June 25, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the parish hall of Christ Episcopal Church, 1101 Franklin Rd., Roanoke. Wallace "Wally" Wales Crawford Mr. Wallace "Wally" Wales Crawford, 82, formerly of Bristol Tennessee, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, Tenn. Born in Waynesville, N.C., he was the son of the late Wiley E. Crawford and Lily Lucille Hill Crawford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by spouse, Dicie Alice Crawford. A native of Waynesville, Wallace was a "rabid" NCSU Wolfpack Alumnus. Mr. Crawford was a Korean War veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a textile engineer by trade for many years working for American Enka Corporation, Olin-Matheson, Beaunit and Camac. He later changed careers and worked in the Beauty and Barber Supply Business. He worked for Irwin's in Bristol Tennessee, and Raymond's out of Nashville, Tenn. He was a proud member of State Street United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class for many years before moving to Maryville, Tenn. to be closer to family. Throughout the years his hobbies included trout fishing, hunting, gardening, sports and family. He continued the love of watching birds that he shared with his wife Dicie, during their 53 year marriage. Mr. Crawford is survived by daughter, Alice C. Nichols and husband Chet Nichols of Rockford, Tenn.; son, Stan Crawford and wife Beth Crawford of Knoxville; four grandchildren, Kristin Nichols, Katelyn Nichols, Madelyn Crawford, Caroline Crawford; two nieces, Donna Walters and Stephanie Crawford; two nephews, Tommy Crook and Jeff Crawford; sister-in-law, Bette Morgan.
