Victor Lynn Winebarger "These wheels keep turning but they're running out of steam." Vic's wheels ran out of steam. July 23, 1960 - September 18, 2010 "Be kinder than necessary for everyone is fighting some kind of battle. LIVE SIMPLY, LOVE GENEROUSLY, CARE DEEPLY, SPEAK KINDLY, and most of all PRAY CONTINUALLY." Vic was in the happiest, most peaceful time of his life in recent weeks. Only God knows why he was called home. We can only wonder if the call from his beloved nephews, David Wayne Brooks, 6-23-1974/ 12-16-2008, Christopher Lee Powell, 5-16-1972/6-21-2010, and step-nephew, Stephen Shane Bozeman, 4-25-1969/09-30-2008, all there in heaven waiting for him was a call he felt the need to answer. "Victor followed the path God laid for him. He took his hand when he heard God call; he turned his back and left it all. Vic couldn't stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, or play. He found that peace at the close of a near perfect day. God wanted him; now he set him free." Victor left this sometimes cruel world, "In the arms of the angels." Victor leaves to cherish his warm, boyish smile and gentle, loving nature the love of his life, his daughter Haley Victoria Winebarger and her mother Cindy Ion. His parents Edythe and Joe Mullagh and J.C. and Joan Winebarger; his "big sisters," Sandra White and Dicky, Debbie Bozeman and Steve, Diane Austin and Robert, and Marie Ward and Herbie; Rick Brooks, his only remaining nephew; nieces, Kim Lemburg, Lori Waddell, Jennifer Austin, Shelley Caudill, Hannah Etter and Sherry Loy; and numerous step-brothers and step-sisters. Victor's ex-wife, Theresa Winebarger, had become his best friend, once again. Victor was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church. He was employed with Flowers Baking Co. for 28 years. He was a gifted "shade tree mechanic" who loved his motorcycles and NASCAR. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Carl Weiser officiating.
