Harold N. Absher Pleasant Garden, North Carolina - Mr. Harold N. Absher, 77, went to be with his Lord on Wed., Sept. 9, 2009 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. Funeral services were held on Tues., Sept. 15, at Pleasant Garden Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment followed at Gilmore Memorial Park with Rev. John Absher and Rev. Daniel Absher officiating. Mr. Absher was born on March 30, 1932 in Fork Ridge, Virginia. He attended Pleasant Garden Holiness Church and retired from Holiday Tours. He belonged to the Christian Motorcyclist Club. He was a veteran, having retired from the United States Air Force. Harold loved every kid he met and they loved him. He never met a stranger and told everyone he met that he loved Jesus. Those that have gone on to heaven before him are his parents, Roy and Mary Green Absher; grandchildren, Meghan A. and Bethany B. Fleming. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Kitty Wilson Absher; daughter, Selena Lee Absher Fleming and husband D. Scott of Randleman; son, Rev. John Edward Absher and wife S. Milena of Plainfield, Illinois; brothers, Rev. Daniel Lee Absher and wife Shirley, Rev. Arnold K. Absher and wife Rickie, both of Pleasant Garden, Rev. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Abram Bareford; and five brothers, John, Temple, Ernest, William and Wallace. She is survived by one niece, Dorine Watkins (Buck); two nephews, David Wyatt (Mary) and Kenneth Wyatt (Bernice). She was retired from Miller & Rhoads, and was a longtime member of Fairmount Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., where services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday. BRAYFORD, Bridie M., 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2009. She is survived by her devoted husband, Bob Brayford; her daughter, Missy (Alan) Swajkoski of Boise, Idaho; four grand-children, Franny (Peter) Apel, Katie, Robbie (Jenny), and Jenny Swajkoski; three brothers, William, Bernard, and Tom Hawco; and seven sisters, Angela Quinlan, Anne Stier, Gert Vukas, Florie Godfrey, Mary Essary, Madeline Fleming and Tess Walker. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Hawco; mother, Bertha Hawco; and sister, Elizabeth Adams. Bridie was born in Newfoundland, Canada and received her U.S. citizenship in 1955 in Clinton, Iowa. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Bridie loved being outdoors, working in her yard, playing tennis, camping, and fishing. She loved her home and being a lifelong homemaker. She loved to travel with Bob and go camping and fishing in the Shenandoah Mountains, riding an elephant in Thailand, and going to the Calgary Stampede. Their life together was full of love and laughter. Bridie's family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2009 at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where a memorial service will be held Saturday, September 19, 2009, at 10 a.m. The family wishes to thank Amoy Boland, her home caregiver, the staff at The Crossings at Bon Air, and her Hospice helpers for the gentle and loving care they provided to mom. Larry Michael Brown Lynchburg, VA - Larry Michael Brown, 59, of 3600 Old Forest Road Lynchburg, VA, and formerly of Bluefield, WV, died Mon., Sept. 7, 2009 at a Bluefield hospital. Born June 6, 1950 in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of the late Harvey Richard "Dude" Brown and Floetta Francis Terry Brown. Larry was a member of the Tazewell Baptist Church and served in the WV National Guard. He was a graduate of Bluefield High School and attended Bluefield State College. He retired from Harry Outdoor Advertising after 18 years of service. Larry was a member of the Tazewell Masonic Lodge #62 A.F.& A.M., and was a member of Kazem Shrine Center, Roanoke, VA. Larry is survived by his lifelong friend and former wife, Diane Brown; daughters, Catherine Brown Richman and her husband, Brian, of Lynchburg, VA and Megan Brown Horton and her husband, Will, also of Lynchburg, VA; grandchildren, Anna Drumheller and Kate Drumheller; many great aunts and cousins. Graveside services were conducted Thurs., Sept. 10, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Grandview Memory Gardens Cemetery, Bluefield, VA, with Rev. John Ragland officiating. Masonic graveside rites were conducted by Tazewell Masonic Lodge #62. BUTLER, Joseph DeWitt Jr., 70, of Bracey, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 14, 2009. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Patricia Butler; son, Jeff Butler and his wife, Mystre; daughter, Jan Butler Malcolm and her husband, Scott; stepchildren, James Farrar, Robert "Bobby" Farrar Sr. and his wife, Lou Ann, and Judy Meadows and her husband, Richard; aunt, Phyllis Dunlevy and her husband, Junie; grandchildren, Christopher Butler and Brandon Booth; stepgrandchildren, Jason Farrar and Robert "Bobby" Farrar Jr., Leslie and Ethan Meadows. Mr. Butler was an avid musician who played the saxophone and had a band, Joey D and the Starlights. He was active in coaching Little League Baseball in Tuckahoe and Powhatan. During his earlier years, he also worked the pit crew for NASCAR owner and uncle, Junie Dunlevy. Cage, Eleanor Wolf

CAGE, Mrs. Eleanor Wolf, of 4144 Stoney Ridge Road, Nathalie, Virginia, died Monday, September 14, 2009 at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg. She was born in Swan Creek, Illinois, March 3, 1922 and was 87 years of age. She was the daughter of the late William Wayne Wolf and Elsie Taylor Wolf; and was married for 49 years to Hubert Cage, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Cage was a member of the Catawba Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, worked with the youth and served on the flower committee. She was a first lieutenant with the Army Medical Corps, having served with that division as a dietitian during World War II. She served 19 and one half years as the dietitian at Halifax Community Hospital. Mrs. Cage is survived by four daughters, the Reverend Maxine Cage Crenshaw of Nathalie, Va., Janet Cage Carter and husband, Jimmy, of Bedford, Va., Dorothy Lynn "Dot" Cage of Charlottesville, Va., Cathy Cage Offield and husband, Danny, of Buffalo Junction, Va.; one granddaughter, Katlyn Offield of Buffalo Junction, Va.; two brothers, Richard Wolf of Abingdon, Illinois, Kenneth Wolf of Bushnell, Illinois; one sister, Evelyn Chadderdon of Bushnell, Illinois. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leland Wolf and Harold Wolf. Funeral services for Mrs. Cage will be held Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Catawba Baptist Church, with the Rev. CASH, Osborne C. "Ozzie," 93, of Sandston, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene B. Cash. He is survived by his children, Granville Cash, Gordon Cash, Patricia Jordan (Owen), Robert C. Cash (Margaret), and Thomas (Randy) Cash Sr. (Karen); 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Ozzie was a WWII Navy Veteran, B-24 pilot and a member of the Machinist and Aerospace Union. He was also a retired employee of Reynolds Metal Company. Ruby L. Castellow FRANKLIN - Ruby Nora Lee Castellow, 99, widow of Basil Broadnax Castellow, died Sept. 15, 2009, at Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was born in Bertie County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Eunice Brown and Ernest C. Lee and was predeceased by a sister, Thelma Morris. Mrs. Castellow was a graduate of Meredith College and a teacher for 34 years, most recently in Conway, N.C. and Franklin. She was a member of High Street Seniors where she often participated in activities involving needlework and crafts. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and its Faithful Servants Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughter, Eunice C. Vick and husband Jesse (Bill) of Courtland; four grandchildren, Cynthia Choate and husband Richard, Ann Magee and husband Kevin, David Vick, and John Vick and wife Ann; seven great-grandchildren, Michael and Jessica Choate, Tiffany Vick, Meghan and Macy Magee and Justin and Kristen Vick; a sister, Alice Evans of Greenville, N.C.; and two brothers, Ernest Lee Jr. of Colerain, N.C., and Earl Lee of Richmond; several nieces and nephews. Ruby B. Chandler Ruby Blankenship Chandler, 93, of Bland died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at Wythe County Community Hospital in Wytheville. Funeral service was held Thursday, Sept. 10, at 1 p.m. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Lorton officiating. Interment was in the Temple Hill Cemetery in Bland. She was born June 23, 1916, in Bland, daughter of the late Charlie and Minnie Blankenship. She was a member of Bland United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Greever Chandler; a son, Charles G. Chandler Jr.; two grandsons, Michael Scott Chandler and Tracy Alan Hylton; three brothers, Luther Blankenship, Charles Blankenship and Jack Blankenship; and two sisters, Sadie Moody and Marie Edwards. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jimmy Hylton; a sister, Genetta Hamblin; five grandchildren, Laura Chandler, Karen Chandler, Steven Chandler, Charles Chandler III and Samantha King and husband, Bobby; and a great-grandchild, Madison Renee King. CONYERS, Audrey Helen, 83, of Midlothian, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 13, 2009. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elwood Mack Conyers; parents, Floyd and Esther Hockenbury; sisters, Dorothy Lind and Kathleen Fields; and a brother, Bobby Hockenbury. She is survived by her son, Richard Conyers and his companion, Joy McDonald; grandchildren, Mary E. Charlton and Jonathan M. Conyers; a special "daughter," Rae Campbell; several devoted nieces and nephews; friend, Fuzzy Cannon; and companion, Callie Cat. She worked as a supervisor at the Miller & Rhoads Tea Room and retired from Chesterfield County School system where she taught elementary education. She was dedicated to the Lord and attended Chesterfield Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. Audrey E. Edmonds Audrey Evelyn Edmonds, 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly of Wytheville, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009. She was born March 22, 1926, in Carroll County, daughter of the late Frederick C. and Lena J. Crowder Edmonds. She was retired from the CIA and was a member of South Roanoke United Methodist Church, TSRA Club and CIA General Club. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Edythe Edmonds and Sadie E. Hope; and two brothers, William L. Edmonds and Cecil J. Edmonds. Survivors include four sisters, Anna R. Manderscheid of Chicago, Ill., Jewel E. Rhodes of Roanoke, Bonnie E. Rodda of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Patricia E. Kinder of Saint Mary's, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews. There was no visitation at the funeral home. He was born Feb. 1, 1956, in Martinsville to Sonny Hairston and Willie Stockton Hairston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Hairston and Mildred Hairston. He attended Fieldale-Collinsville High School and had worked for Pulaski Furniture for five years. He was a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. Surviving are two sisters, Barbara Brimmer and Willie M. Hairston, both of Martinsville; three brothers, John H. Hairston, William Hairston and Sonny Hairston Jr., all of Martinsville. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Mt. Zion A.M.E. He was a member of the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech and graduated with the class of 1970. He was a mining engineer with Island Creek Coal Company and Consol Coal Company for over 30 years. Johnston, Robert G.

JOHNSTON, Robert G., of Richmond, passed away on September 15, 2009. Born in 1922, in Sharon, Pa., Bob lived most of his life in Richmond. Bob was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps in France. He met his wife, the late Shirley Culbreth, at the USO in Florence, S.C. Bob was an accountant with several truck leasing companies, but his life bloomed in retirement when he could pursue his passions for gardening and gadgetry. He and Shirley annually expanded the variety of flowers and vegetables in their back yard. In his well used garage, he fixed everything that ever broke in the house or on the car. He built make-shift boats, hot-air balloons launched on the Fourth of July, a lawn-mowing ghost for Halloween, and small rockets launched to the delight of his grandchildren. For more than 50 years Bob was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church, where he taught Sunday School and served as Deacon for several years. His faith sustained him following the death of his beloved Shirley in 2003, and he treasured the loving support of his St. Giles friends. Bob's greatest accomplishment was as the loving father of five children, 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Pamela Johnston of Huntington, N.Y., Elizabeth Snyder of Havertown, Pa., Martha Shotwell of Glen Allen, Robert Johnston Jr. of Vallejo, Calif., and Ann Winton of Charleston, W.Va. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Dawson of Redmond, Wash. He was preceded by his parents, Elizabeth Newhouse and Virgil C. Johnston; and brothers, Virgil Johnston Jr. and William T. Johnston. There will be a memorial service on Friday, September 18, at 11 a.m., followed by visitation with the family at St. Giles Presbyterian Church in Richmond. Kilby Hicks Kilby, 71, died at his home, Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Sybil Owen Kilby. William Holland "Bill" Lineberry William Holland "Bill" Lineberry, age 79 of Dublin, passed away Sat., Sept. 12, 2009, in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born July 25, 1930, in Richlands, VA, he was the son of the late Harry Holland Lineberry and Mildred Brenda Meek Lineberry of Burkes Garden, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Margie Morgan Lineberry, and granddaughter, Jennifer Lineberry. Mr. Lineberry was retired from Appalachian Power Company with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Pulaski Elks Lodge #1067 and the Dublin Lions Club. Surviving: his wife of 55 years, Hope Gillespie Lineberry of Dublin; daughter, Melissa H. "Mel" Lineberry of Dublin; son and daughter-in-law, William Thomas Lineberry and Sharon Clark Lineberry of Draper; two grandchildren, Zane Thomas Lineberry and Erin Hope Lineberry of Draper; brother and sister-in-law, Ben H. and Sarah Lineberry of Pulaski Co.; beloved sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Katherine Moss Huffman and Jim V. He was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1972 and attended the First Baptist Church in Honaker, VA. He was also a member of the National Hot Rod Association. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Arms, Josephine Newsome, and Carol Sue Thomas. Interment was held Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. at Bishop's Chapel Cemetery on Clear Fork Road (Route 61). She was born Aug. 13, 1913, at Rocky Gap, daughter of the late William A. and Luna Bird French. She worked various jobs but spent the last 27 years of employment at Tultex Sewing Factory in Bastian where she retired in 1978. She was a faithful Christian servant and enjoyed sharing her faith with others. She devoted her life to her family. She spent numerous hours playing marbles, jack rocks and Tri-ominos with her grandchildren. Gardening, fishing, crocheting and listening to her Christian radio tapes were among her favorite hobbies. For the past 3 ½ years, she had been a resident of Westwood Retirement Center in Bluefield. She previously made her home in the Clear Fork section of Bland County and was a member of the Rocky Gap United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Neal; and 11 brothers and sisters making her the last surviving member of her immediate family before her death. Myrtle Herald Puckett Myrtle Herald Puckett, age 80 of Tazewell, VA, passed away Mon., Sept. 7, 2009 at Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA. Born Feb. 5, 1929 in the Cove section of Tazewell, VA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bertha Brown Herald. She was a member of the Thompson Valley Church of God. Mrs. Puckett was employed by General Instrument for 17 years and was also the manager of the Short Stop in Tazewell for approximately 17 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond L. Herald, Norman E. Herald, Eugene Herald, and Robert H. Herald; three sisters-in-law, Fannie Herald, Renata Herald, and Ann Herald. Her days were made better by the genuine care and concern of Dr. Pablo Carpio and his staff as well as Tazewell Community Hospital and a very special nurse, Ms. Alice Dykes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Rogers; a sister, Phyllis Black; and two brothers, Marion Rogers and Richard Rogers. Survivors include two sons, Donnie Rogers of Alexandria and Randolph A. SHEPHERD, Mrs. Mildred "Peggy" Louthan, 92, formerly of Fredericksburg, Va., Gloucester, Va. and Richmond, Va., departed this life Monday, September 14, 2009 at her son's home in South Boston, Va. She was born in Richmond, Va., December 31, 1916, to the late Frank G. Louthan and Mildred M. Louthan. Mrs. Shepherd graduated from Westhampton College of the University of Richmond in 1937. She taught school in Richmond and in Gloucester County, Va., where she and her husband had moved in 1954. During her 41 years as a Gloucester resident, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother, American Red Cross volunteer, Children's Home Society representative, PTA member and officer (she was awarded a PTA life membership), a 4-H Leader for 25 years, and a member of the DAR and the Gloucester Historical Society. Mrs. Shepherd was a member of Abingdon Episcopal Church for 55 years. She attended Ferry Farm Baptist Church while living in Fredericksburg. Mrs. Shepherd was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was a "BIG" sports fan, especially of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sports. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thomas "Dick" Shepherd. She is survived by a daughter, Almeda S. Clements of Fredericksburg, Va.; two sons, R. Thomas "Tom" Shepherd Jr. and his wife, Virginia Bogart, of South Boston and Harry W.L. "Pete" Shepherd of Gloucester; six grand-children and seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Frank G. Louthan Jr. and his wife, Marilyn, of Richmond. Funeral services for Mrs. Shepherd will be held Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Abingdon Episcopal Church in Gloucester. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Spriggs Sr. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Sadler Gillespie and husband, David, of Marion, and Rebecca Eller and fiancÂ?, Johnny Burkett of Marion; one son, Henry Spriggs Jr. of Marion; four beautiful granddaughters, Shannon Beville and special friend, Rickie Long, and Bethany, Colleen, and Rocquelle Spriggs; very special great-grandson, Montana Lane Beville who was the love of her life; also special friends, Ronnie and Shirley Collins; and her church family at Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church. STEINER, John "Jack" E., 79, of Henrico, Va., died Sunday, September 13, 2009. He was born in Red Wing, Minn. to Chester and Esther (Downey) Steiner. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Joan (Gross) Steiner; two infants, John and Tamara; and brother, James J. Steiner. He is survived by his wife, Judith (Hinderliter) Steiner; sister, Patricia (Rodney) Adolph of Red Wing, Minn.; two daughters, Jayne (David) Steiner and Julie (Tim) Shirley; son, John (Margaret) Steiner; four stepchildren, Andrew Blotzer, Jamie (Nick) Shaginaw, Jerald Blotzer, Michael (Melanie) Blotzer; close friends, Rob and Anna Reinstein; and many nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Joshua West and Tamara Harp, Kelsey and William C. John served in the National Guard from 1947 to January 1951, when he was activated into the regular Army. He was honorably discharged at the end of his enlistment in October of 1951. In 1953 he started working for Western Electric. He worked in Wisconsin, Chicago, Ill., Richmond, Va., New York, N.Y., and Pittsburgh, Pa., where he retired with 35 years of service in 1988. Western Electric turned into AT&T and Lucent Technologies. After retiring, he worked for ATPAC for 10 more years. He was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church since they moved here in 1965. He worked on the St. Bridget's School Bus Committee for 10 years. He also worked on the Bingo Committee, was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers and Knights of Columbus Council 395. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. Rosary at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 6006 Three Chopt Rd. He served one tour of duty in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was born in Nelson County on July 19, 1932, a son of the late Effie and Dessie Bradley Fitzgerald. He attended Rockfish Valley Baptist Church and was a self-employed truck driver for over 45 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ollie Truslow Fitzgerald; his children, Connie Thomas of Nellysford, Chester Fitzgerald Jr. and Edward Fitzgerald, both of Crimora; two sisters, Sylvia Bower and Irene Breeden and one brother, Eddie "Brother" Fitzgerald; nine grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren. The Stars and Stripes, they flew forever always in his heart. He was loyal to his nation and bravely did his part., Always thinking of his brother ever in his mind,, He stood for love of country and most of all, mankind., Now gazing down with his Master through a light and heavenly cloud,, He's still looking out for all of us of whom he is so proud., Fleming Lynn (Vic) Vickers, 82, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 14, 2009. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Irene Vickers; his parents, Pearl and William Vickers; two brothers, Billy and Fred; and one sister, Marie Hash., in joining the Roanoke City Sheriff's Department on February 1, 1961. With dedication he was employed there for 32 years, never missing one day of work until his retirement in 1993., Vic leaves to cherish his memory, his caring son, Barry, daughter-in-law, Bobbie, and two loving granddaughters, Kerri Vickers and Jessica Fereber and children. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Claude Harrison and wife, Bobbi; four sisters-in-law, Christine Sexton and husband, Raymond, Rebecca Kingery and Leona Harrison, all of Roanoke, and Polly Vickers, of Richmond. Vic also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends., The family extends their gratitude and thanks to the doctors and staff of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their outstanding care and attention that was provided, as well as a very special thank you to the Roanoke City Fire and EMS Departments., will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Pastor Paul Sink officiating. Marion Barnes Watson VIRGINIA BEACH - Marion Barnes Watson, 76, resident of the Atria Retirement Home in Virginia Beach, passed peacefully away into the arms of her Lord Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Ellen Barnes. She was a member of the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Marion was predeceased by two husbands, William H. Shipp Jr. and Allen C. Watson. She is survived by her son, William H. Shipp III and wife Kathy; a stepson, Bruce A. Merrill and wife Karen; two brothers, Leonard Barnes and wife Virginia and Walter E. Barnes and wife Anita; one grandson, Brandon Tudor Shipp; one stepgrandson, Phillip Merrill; one stepgranddaughter, Stuart Merrill; many nieces and nephews. She worked many years for V.H. Monette & Co. in Smithfield, Va., and later retired after 18 years as a sales representative for Hanes Hosiery. Marion was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and a genuine friend to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was an amazing lady and will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she so lovingly touched. The family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt appreciation to Marion's caregivers, who so kindly cared for her in her last days, especially Angela Gregory and Monique Willoughby. A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel, by the Rev. WILSON, James R., 65, of Powhatan, passed away September 13, 2009, following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, I.B. and Audrey Wilson. He is survived by his brother, I.B. Wilson Jr. and wife, Ruby, of Heathsville; his sister, Joan Doss and husband, Jack, of Hadensville; several nephews, aunts, cousins and many friends from Idaho and Powhatan. Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, trap and fish. He especially loved to coon hunt. For approximately 20 years he made his home in Idaho, moving back to Powhatan due to his illness. He will be missed. A visitation will be held Wednesday (tonight) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rte. 60), Powhatan.
